If the due dates for the material you have checked out look incorrect, it's because the Plain City Public Library will be closed for interior updates August 17 through August 24, 2006. Even though material will not be due during the closure, the book drop will remain open for your convenience.
What updates will we see in 2006?
During the August closure, there will be new carpet installed throughout the building and decorative updates will be made in some reading areas. A small amount of shelving and material will be relocated to maximize floor space and to make room for popular material. During the remaining months of 2006, new computers will be added to the technology room and the front doors will be automated for handicap accessibility.
How are these updates possible during a budget crunch?
These 2006 interior updates have been made possible through generous gifts from the Ernestine Eversole estate, the Jane Taylor estate, the Plain City Lion's Club, the Della Selsor trust, the Plain City Historical Society, Jonathan Alder art student volunteers, the Friends of the Plain City Public Library, and numerous library patrons who have made monetary and material contributions to the library.
