With cold weather approaching,
the Plain City Public Library needs your help. Your library has teamed
up with the Warm Up America Foundation to help provide afghan blankets
to those in need. This program is free and everyone is encouraged to
participate.
It is easy to get involved! Simply knit or crochet a 7”x9” section and
drop it off at the Plain City Public Library, 305 W. Main Street, by
Friday, December 15. Your section will be combined with others from
across America to create beautiful and warm blankets for those who can
really use them. For more information, complete instructions, and
patterns please contact Children’s Services librarian Amanda Broschart
at 614-873-4912, ext. 30 or by email,
abroschart@plaincitylib.org.
Our partner in this project,
Warm Up America! (WUA!), is an organization made up of volunteers
who create handmade afghan blankets, clothing and accessories to help
those in need. These items provide warmth and comfort to people who have
lost their homes, fled abusive relations, or are being cared for in
hospices, shelters, hospitals, and nursing home.
