Thank You Plain City!

With the holidays approaching, the Plain City Public Library decided to team up with the Warm Up America Foundation to help provide afghan blankets to those in need. Community members were asked to simply knit or crochet a 7”x9” section and drop it off at the library. Area residents responded by bringing nearly 150 squares to the library.

The sections will be combined with other participants from across America to create beautiful and warm blankets for those who can really use them. PCPL’s partner in this project, Warm Up America! (WUA!), is an organization made up of volunteers who create handmade afghan blankets, clothing and accessories to help those in need. These items provide warmth and comfort to people who have lost their homes, fled abusive relations, or are being cared for in hospices, shelters, hospitals, and nursing home.
